The UK carry out a national monitoring programme of pesticide residue testing, organised annually into surveys of different foods. Here is an extraction from Quarter 1 2024 report: “Of the 494 Q1 Great Britain samples, we found residues in 240 of them and of these, 8 samples contained residues over the Maximum Residue Level (MRL). Of the 159 Q1 Northern Ireland samples, we found residues in 87 of them and of these, no samples contained residues over the MRL.”
